As a school we make informed decisions about our Pupil Premium Funding to ensure that all pupils reach their full potential. We make good use of educational research such as The Sutton Trust - EEF Teaching and Learning Toolkit to guide us on how best to use the school's resources. Throughout the academic year 2023-2024 we are ensuring that we use our Pupil Premium funding to achieve the following:
- Enhancing the outcomes for Pupil Premium pupils within reading, writing and maths at the end of Key Stage 1 - Through targeted writing, reading and fine motor skill interventions and embedding a whole school approach to broadening vocabulary we are confident that out children will become confident readers and writers. The implementation of our Read, Write, Inc. programmes will be tailored to enhance our pupil outcomes and our text curriculum will ensure children have to access a 'word rich' text curriculum which can be translated into their composition within writing.
- Increasing the attainment of Pupil Premium pupils within writing from Years 1 to 5 - Through targeted interventions and post teach learning conferences we will continue to improve pupil's basic writing skills. The implementation of our writing curriculum will be tailored and progressive and will focus on genre specific structures to enhance pupil outcomes for pupils across the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curriculum.
- Ensuring that the SEND needs of pupils in EYFS are identified and assessed as soon as possible so that accurate provision can be implemented - We will ensure that pupils within EYFS are assessed on entry so that our knowledgeable staff are able to plan and deliver highly inclusive provision for all pupils across Phase 1 and Phase 2.
- Improving the attendance of Pupil Premium Pupils to ensure that they are in school regularly and on time promoting increased attainment and progress - Through weekly personalised tuition after school for pupils with staff, for identified pupils who have been absent in previous lessons. Pupil premium learners will also have access to breakfast club so that they are punctual and full of energy for the exciting day ahead!
- Ensuring the emotional well-being of our children so that they are able to maximise their receptiveness to learn - Through extended services and our play therapy and outdoor learning nurture programmes we will continue to provide a holistic programme of support for all of our children and families.
- Broadening the educational experiences of children - We will provide opportunities both within the school and as extra-curricular activities to develop children's confidence, independence, resilience and working collaboratively.
- Embedding a highly effective programme of parental engagement to ensure outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and their families are enhanced - Through our well established CLIC programmes staff will be providing strong information about children’s progress across the curriculum through face-to-face workshop sessions.
