We recognise that each child is unique and will have different needs, which may vary throughout their time at our school. As a school all of our Pupil Premium spending decisions are informed by research evidence so that we can ensure that additional support for pupils enables them to reach their full potential as happy, confident, life-long learners. As a school we make informed decisions about our Pupil Premium Funding to ensure that all pupils reach their full potential. We make good use of educational research such as The Sutton Trust - EEF Teaching and Learning Toolkit to guide us on how best to use the school's resources. Throughout the academic year 2024-2025 we are ensuring that we use our Pupil Premium funding to achieve the following:
- Enhancing the quality of teaching and learning experiences for pupils so that they are engaged in effortful thought and are developed as active learners - As a school we are enhancing all of our staff knowledge of pedagogy so that we use school wide strategies to drive pupils' thinking.
- Ensuring that the SEND needs of our under-resourced pupils are met and enhanced - We are ensuring the responsiveness of all staff to the needs of SEND pupils, with a particular focus on assessment and adaptive practice.
- Improving the attendance of our under-resourced pupils to ensure that they are in school regularly and on time promoting increased attainment and progress - Through personalised support for identified learners we will ensure that no significant gaps in knowledge and skills are widened due to persistent absence. Our under-resourced learners will also have access to breakfast club so that they are punctual and full of energy for the exciting day ahead!
- Ensuring the emotional well-being of our children so that they are able to maximise their receptiveness to learn - Through extended services and our play therapy and outdoor learning nurture programmes we will provide a holistic programme of support for all of our children and families with a particular focus on the successful use of emotional regulation and social communication strategies.
- Embedding our culture of success and engagement for all pupils and their families - Through our well established Community Hub programmes staff will be providing strong information about children’s progress across the curriculum through workshop sessions and our Team Around the Child and Family approach. Families and pupils will have access to our provision creating advantage and equity for all.
